The Old School Yard

Nestled in the heart of London at 111 Long Ln, The Old School Yard isn't your average cocktail bar-it's a nostalgic playground for grown-ups, where neon lights meet retro vibes and the party never quite left the '90s. If you're searching for a quirky night out that ditches the pretense and leans hard into fun, this spot delivers big on atmosphere, flavor, and entertainment.

From the moment you step in, there's no mistaking the vibe: loud, unapologetically playful, and brimming with energy. Think karaoke nights, arcade games, and cocktails that pack a punch. The venue doesn’t hold back when it comes to unleashing your inner party animal-with bar games scattered throughout and dancing pretty much a given once the music kicks in. This is not a place for quiet chats over candlelight; it's a place to sing your heart out with a Whiskey Sour in hand and make memories with a mic and a group of friends.

Cocktail lovers, buckle up. The drink menu is a treasure trove of classics and bold house creations. Whether you're sipping on a Bloody Mary to kickstart your night or indulging in a zesty Caipirinha, each cocktail is crafted to impress. The Espresso Martini hits all the right notes if you're in need of a caffeine-infused kick, while the Mai Tai brings island vibes to the heart of London. Fans of hops and malt will appreciate the Punk IPA Beer and crisp cider options, while those who lean sweet might gravitate toward the Iced Tea cocktails or a chilled Michelada for something a little different.

Hungry? Don’t overlook the Cheese Pizza, a solid crowd-pleaser that pairs perfectly with any drink on the list. The kitchen keeps it simple and satisfying-ideal for refueling between rounds of karaoke or after dominating the arcade machines.

While it’s bursting with character and good times, The Old School Yard does come with a few accessibility limitations. It currently doesn’t offer wheelchair-accessible facilities or an assistive hearing loop, and there’s no dedicated car park. That said, if accessibility isn’t a barrier for your group, the venue makes up for it with charisma and charm.

Looking for a happy hour hangout? The Old School Yard delivers on that too. Their happy-hour drinks draw a lively after-work crowd looking to unwind over cocktails and laughter. And yes, they serve food at the bar, so no need to abandon your game or conversation to grab a bite. You’ll also find free water refills, making it easy to keep hydrated as the night stretches on.

One standout feature that really separates this venue from more traditional bars is the "bring your own food" policy. That’s right-if you're not in the mood for bar snacks, you're welcome to show up with your own takeaway or celebration cake, and let the drinks and games take care of the rest.

Between the karaoke stage, the arcade cabinets, and the steady stream of signature cocktails, The Old School Yard manages to combine the carefree spirit of a school disco with the indulgence of a grown-up night out. It's a rare gem in London’s bar scene where letting loose isn’t just encouraged-it’s basically mandatory. Whether you're here for the dancing, the games, or just the cocktails with friends, this is one venue that truly lives up to its name.

We had the best time here!! We booked the karaoke room and as soon as we entered, we felt so at home. The staff was so generous and super friendly. We had so much fun singing our lungs out. Definitely recommend

It was very fun to do karaoke but the staff working were strange and a bit rude. Our booking was from 6-8pm, when our small group arrived a member of staff insisted on showing our lead booker the room, this was about 5.45. Once he had shown her the room he insisted she stayed down there, and then told us she was waiting for us to go down. We were still getting drinks at this point so didn't go down to the room until about 6, when we started singing. At 7.45 the member of staff turned the light on and when we asked why, he was very rude and said our time was up. He then said our email booking said 5.45-7.45, when we showed him it was 6-8pm he then said it was because the time started when he brought our lead booker down to the room to show her the room at 5.45. Which was not explained at all. He also was still setting the sound up / microphones past 6pm. Not the best service and it was a shame we had to finish our karaoke slightly earlier than planned. Karaoke was very fun though, and it was great to order drinks straight to the room.
